POLICIES

Check-In
Check–In time is after 4:00 p.m. Please note: Due to the nature of vacation rentals, cleaning services can require additional time. Residences are not always available at the earliest listed check-in time, especially during peak seasons.
Our office hours are from 10am to 5pm, Monday through Friday (Saturday's in July). Please contact our office prior to arrival if you plan to arrive after 5pm to ensure you have all the information you need prior to arrival. You are sent a confirmation email with your check-in instructions. Please print it and verify you have the address of your home, door codes, etc. prior to your arrival. We do not have office personnel after hours.

Check-Out
Check-out time for all properties is 11:00 a.m. and is strictly enforced. Late check outs will incur a $50 fee which will be collected from the credit card on file.  Any request for late check-out must be approved within 24 hours of departure (only when that particular home is available and a nominal fee does apply). Sorry, early check-ins and late check-outs are not available during peak & Holiday periods.  Housekeepers may arrive at the property after 8:00am on the day of departure to begin laundry in preparation for our next guest.


Please leave the house as you found it; take out any garbage, empty the refrigerator, clean up any spilled food or trash, ensure all personal items are removed.  These are vacation homes, not hotel rooms, our housekeeping staff will be in to tidy up, and do minimal cleaning.  Any additional cleaning will be handled per the "Fees" section below.

Fees
To confirm a reservation, a prepayment of the first nights rent is collected. The final payment of the reservation must be paid in full prior to arrival date, and will be charged to the card you used to place your reservation unless other arrangements have been made. Any excessive cleaning costs, or costs to repair damage to properties will be collected using the credit card which secured the reservation.  Please ensure you have fulfilled the guest responsibilities on leaving the property: (stripping beds, loading and running the dishwasher, removing unused food, vacuuming floors, picking up trash, etc.). Failure to do so is considered excessive cleaning and will incur an additional fee.


Any cancellations result in forfeiture of the prepayment.  Any cancellation will result in forfeiture of 50% of rent collected, excluding the first night prepayment (which is not refundable).

Taxes
Illinois State and Nauvoo City Law requires that sales tax and occupancy hotel-motel tax be collected on all rentals. Tax requirements are subject to change by state and local taxing authorities.

Supplies and Number of Guests
Linens (sheets, towels, blankets) are provided for the approved number of guests (identified on our website) for each property. There are also paper goods provided (toilet paper, paper towels) for a standard stay. 
The stated capacity of the home is the limit for occupancy.  If the capacity of the home is exceeded a fee equivalent to one nights rent will be charged to the card used to secure the reservation.

 

Staff

Parking
The number of available parking spaces will vary according to the property. Please be courteous when parking, and park in the spaces provided for your property. Do not park on the grass, and please do not block other cars or driveways, or park on city streets.

 

Buses
If your group is arriving by bus, please call our office for bus instruction (217-453-6090).  We will ensure your bus company and/or driver are aware of the Nauvoo bus routes.  You can also obtain them on our website by clicking on the bus link on the home page.  Buses travelling on non-approved routes will be ticketed.

 

Smoking
All residences are designated non-smoking.  Any smoking in a property will result in a $250 minimum fee.

 

Pets
Pets are not allowed in any property. Should a pet be found in any home, a $250 fee will be charged to the guest credit card.

 

Substitutions
Management strives to comply with all reservation requests for specific vacation residences. However, due to changes in residence ownership, unforeseen mechanical problems, or any other circumstances, we cannot guarantee a specific rental property. We reserve the right to change assignments without notice or liability should a residence become unavailable.

 

Television and Internet Service
Many of our properties provide television and internet service. However, we cannot ensure that service will be operational at all times.  Technical services  can be a challenge in Nauvoo.  We are a small town.  Please be patient if service is out, or sporadic.  These services are outside of our control, so we are unable to offer refunds based on television or internet service issues.

 

Age
We will not rent to vacationing students or singles under 25 years of age. Any reservation made under false pretenses will be subject to forfeiture of advance payment of rent and deposit and possible eviction.

 

Behavior
Loud or unusual behavior is strictly prohibited. Management reserves the right to evict, without refund, any person who creates a disturbance or becomes a nuisance. Violation of any property rules, including but not limited to the throwing or dropping of any object from Windows, patios and balconies, will result in immediate eviction and forfeiture of rent and deposit.


Nauvoo City Ordinance requires all minors be accompanied after 10pm when outdoors.  Guests are responsible to monitor all members of their party (of all ages) to ensure property rights are respected.

 

Bed Linens
Soiling of bed linens may incur an additional cleaning fee.  If this is a known problem with members of your party, please consider use of pull-ups, or other methods to protect bed linens.

 

Entry Of Premises
An authorized employee or repairman may enter premises during regular business hours for any purpose connected with the repair, improvement, care and management of the premises. All Vacation Nauvoo representatives will display appropriate identification.

 

Reporting Damages
All Damage must be reported promptly to Vacation Nauvoo staff at the property. Such staff will have the sole authority to determine the extent of repairs necessary.  Costs to repair damages caused by guests will be charged to the card on file with Vacation Nauvoo.


If you notice damages upon your arrival, please notify our office immediately.
